Privacy policy
Diffd is made by Pontén Solutions AB, company number 559569-8233, Sweden.
Diffd is a desktop app that records your League of Legends games on your own computer, finds your best plays, edits them into short videos and, only when you approve each post, publishes them to the social accounts you link. This page explains what data that involves and your rights over it.
Who is responsible
Pontén Solutions AB is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: support@getdiffd.com.
What stays on your computer
Your recordings, clips, edits, webcam footage and settings are stored on your computer and never uploaded unless you choose to post or share a video. When you link a social account (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Threads, Facebook, Reddit, Bluesky, LinkedIn or Discord) you sign in on that platform's own page, so Diffd never sees your password. The sign-in tokens the platform gives back are encrypted with your operating system's key store and kept on your computer.
What reaches our server, and why
- A random device id. Created by the app so the server can keep your plan and usage counts apart from other players'. It isn't linked to your name. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- Sign-in hand-off. Some platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord) need a server to finish signing in. Ours passes the sign-in code to the platform and hands the tokens straight back to your computer without storing them. Legal basis: contract.
- Videos you choose to post or share. Platforms that fetch a video from a link (Instagram, Threads) and share links you make for friends get a copy of that one video on our server. It is deleted when the link expires (30 days by default) or when you revoke it. Legal basis: contract.
- Friends. If you use friends, we store the display name you pick, your friend code and who you're friends with. No real names or emails. Legal basis: contract.
- AI edits. When you ask for an AI edit, a description of the game's events (not the video) and your instructions are sent to our server and to our AI provider to plan the edit. We count how many you use. Legal basis: contract.
- Your plan. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We keep your subscription status and Stripe's customer id, never card details. Legal basis: contract, and bookkeeping law for receipts.
- Server logs. Our host records IP addresses and request times to keep the service running and secure, and deletes them within 30 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in security.
Who else handles it
We use these processors, each bound by a data processing agreement: Render (hosting, EU region), Cloudflare (domain and email forwarding), Anthropic (AI edit planning; it doesn't train on this data), and Stripe (payments). Some are US companies; transfers outside the EU rely on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The social platforms you post to receive what you post under their own privacy policies.
What we don't do
We don't sell data, don't use it for advertising profiles, and only use a linked account to show which account is linked and to publish the posts you approve. We don't read your feed, messages or followers.
How long we keep it
Shared videos: until the link expires or you revoke it. Device id, plan, usage counts and friends: while you use Diffd, and deleted on request. Payment records: 7 years, as Swedish bookkeeping law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to support@getdiffd.com and we'll answer within a month. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY, imy.se) or your own country's data protection authority.
Children
Diffd is for players aged 13 and over, the same as League of Legends in most countries.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you before it applies.
